Plans and billing

Three tiers, each including everything below it. Free is a real tier rather than a trial, and most people should spend a while there first.

The three tiers#

  • Free, $0. The live whale feed, search, watchlist, leaderboard, basic whale profiles, line charts, the Bitcoin forecast headline, Orca paper trading and the daily digest.
  • Pro, $9 a month or $59 a year. Orca live trading and auto-copy, custom alert rules, full whale profiles, The Prophet, events, the map, history, Deep Trade, and the remaining chart modes.
  • Quant, $99 a month or $599 a year. Everything in Pro plus the REST API, webhooks and bulk exports.

The annual prices are the cheaper way in by some distance. Quant includes Pro in full, so there is never a reason to hold both.

How to pay#

Card#

Handled by Stripe, monthly or annual, cancellable at any time.

Crypto#

Both paid tiers accept USDC on Polygon, paid directly to a wallet rather than through a processor. The prices are the same. A crypto payment buys a fixed period rather than starting a subscription, so it will not renew on its own.

In the iOS app#

Apple's in-app purchase sells Pro only. Quant is web-only, being an API tier. An Apple subscription is managed and cancelled through the App Store, not through Polywhaler. See the iOS app.

Note

However you pay, you end up with the same entitlement on the same account. Which method you used only changes where you go to cancel.

Changing or cancelling#

  • Card subscriptions are managed in Settings, including cancellation. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for.
  • Apple subscriptions are cancelled in your App Store settings. Restore Purchases in the app re-links one after a reinstall.
  • A crypto period simply ends. Pay again to extend it.
  • If a card payment fails, the subscription goes past due and Pro access is withdrawn until it is settled. Updating the card restores it.
