Orca

Orca is Polywhaler's trading workspace. Build paper portfolios that copy whale trades or test your own ideas with simulated cash, then graduate to live portfolios that place real orders on Polymarket or Kalshi. Orca lives at orca.polywhaler.com and is also reachable from the Polywhaler sidebar.

Paper and live portfolios

Everything in Orca happens inside a portfolio. A portfolio is either paper or live, and the choice sets what it can do:

  • Paper: simulated cash, real market prices. Copy whale wallets automatically, place manual paper trades on Polymarket or Kalshi markets, and backtest from a past start date. No funds at risk. Free with a Polywhaler account.
  • Live: real money. You place your own orders, and each portfolio is tied to one venue, Polymarket or Kalshi, chosen when you create it. Live portfolios start the day you create them and cannot backdate. Live trading is a Pro feature.

My Portfolios. Each card charts the portfolio's value over time.

Create your first portfolio

  1. Open Orca and click New portfolio.
  2. Pick Paper or Live. Live asks you to choose a venue next: Polymarket or Kalshi.
  3. For paper, set a starting balance, optionally pick whales to copy and a copy amount per trade, and choose a start date. A start date in the past backtests the whales' actual trades from that day forward.
  4. For live, acknowledge how the venue connection works and click Create. You connect the venue account itself the first time you trade, or ahead of time from Settings (see Connecting accounts).

Sharing a portfolio

Every portfolio has a public share link (the share button in the portfolio header). Anyone with the link sees a read-only view: the equity curve, open and closed positions, and for paper portfolios the whales being copied. Your email and account details are never shown.

Note

A live portfolio's share link shows your real account balance and positions on that venue. Only share it if you are comfortable with that being public.

Where to go next

  • Paper trading: copying whales, manual paper trades, backtesting, and how simulated fills and settlements work.
  • Live trading: placing real orders on Polymarket and Kalshi, fees, and how your equity curve is built.
  • Connecting accounts: linking your Polymarket wallet or Kalshi API key, and how Orca stores credentials.
