The iOS app
Orca is on the App Store as Orca: Prediction Markets. It is the trading half of Polywhaler, built for a phone, sharing the same account and the same portfolios as the web.
What is in the app#
- Your portfolios, paper and live, with the same equity curves.
- Placing trades, and copying whales.
- Push notifications, which the web cannot send.
Everything syncs. A portfolio created on the web is on the phone the next time you open it, and the other way round.
What stays on the web#
The analysis surfaces are web-only: the map, events, The Prophet, charts and the developer portal. They want a large screen, and the app does not try to squeeze them in.
Subscriptions#
Apple's in-app purchase sells Pro only. Quant is web-only, because it is an API tier and there is nothing to use it with on a phone.
- Pro bought in the app applies to your account everywhere, including the web.
- Pro bought on the web applies in the app. You do not pay twice.
- An in-app subscription is managed through Apple, not through Polywhaler, so cancelling happens in your App Store settings.
- Restore Purchases in the app re-links an existing Apple subscription after reinstalling or changing device.
Note
Paying by card or by USDC on the web, and paying through Apple, all end up at the same entitlement. Which one you used only changes where you cancel.
